Overview of the role

As a Direct Support Professional at WellLife Network, you support individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs as they live full, independent, and meaningful lives. You’ll build real relationships, help people reach personal goals, and be part of a team that truly cares.

What you’ll do

Foster Independence

Help individuals gain independence in daily activities like cooking, budgeting, using public transportation, and taking care of personal needs.

Emergency Safety

Be ready to assist in emergency evacuations and ensure everyone’s safety during fire drills or real emergencies. Your quick thinking and ability to help others will be crucial.

Medication Management

Administer medication or assist with self-medication, ensuring accuracy in records and following up on health needs.

Crisis Support

Be there to provide calm, professional crisis intervention and help resolve situations in a supportive way.

Assist with Daily Living

Help individuals with everything from personal hygiene to mobility support (like using a Hoyer lift or feeding). Your care will make a direct difference in their daily lives.

Fun and Recreation

Plan and join in on fun activities, both during the day and on weekends. You’ll be part of social events and physical activities that promote well-being and happiness.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need years of experience to start. We’ll train you.

  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Flexible and open to learning
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid NYS driver’s license preferred
