Motivation for Change: Setting and Achieving Goals

Motivation is the intrinsic component in order for change to occur. Sometimes, being motivated may not be enough of a driving force for an individual to take action. Being motivated may mean the difference between success and failure, especially when an individual is faced with challenges. Being motivated to set and achieve goals can be applied to tasks at school, at work, to family, and to life in general. One of the most effective ways to remain motivated is to set goals. Goals may be big or small. A goal can range from "I will work hard to get an A in this course.", to "I am going to save enough money to buy a house by age 30". The inspiring outcome in setting goals is that they can include and influence a number of other factors in our lives that all work toward creating a future life filled with success and satisfaction.
