WellLife Network (WLN), a nonprofit with locations across Long Island that provides behavioral health and related services, has launched the PlayWell Fund. The initiative, which was made possible by a $100,000 grant from the New York State Office of Cannabis Management’s Community Grants Reinvestment Fund, aims to expand access to extracurricular activities for those in Suffolk County between the ages of five and 24 who are receiving behavioral health support.
Eisenhower Park was filled with runners last Friday and for a good cause: Helping fulfill a dream of Raymond Morell, who died last year, likely from a 9/11-related cancer, at 54. Morell, a longtime Floral Park resident, dedicated over 15 years of his life to others through WellLife, a nonprofit supporting people with mental health challenges and developmental disabilities. As the facilities director and lover of historic buildings, he advocated for the preservation of those he came across in his life and work, including a rundown, historic two-story building owned by WellLife in Hollis, Queens.

WellLife Network hosts inclusive Victory Games for hundreds in Queens. More than 300 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities gathered at Victory Field in Forest Park on Friday, June 20, for WellLife Network’s Fourth Annual Victory Games. This high-spirited day of inclusive sports, celebration, and community brought together clients, staff, and supporters from across New York City and Long Island.
